Sligo Surf Experience manager Seamus McGoldrick on the west coast
Sligo Surf Experience offers a range of surf lessons and experiences to suits all our customers needs. All our surf lessons include professional instructors as surf guides, all necessary surfing equipment (soft surfboards, warm wetsuits and boots), access to changing rooms and showers in County Sligo Surf Club and storage for personal belongings.
Warning: surfing is addictive and can lead to considerable thrills and spills.
Please note: all surf classes are weather dependent and safety is our first priority. Times of surf classes may vary during peak busy periods in August with a minimum surf class duration of 2 hours. As with all watersports, it is advisable to be able to swim. If you are unable to swim five meters in a pool we advise you attend some swimming classes to improve your confidence before return to us for your surf lesson.
Ocean Warrior Surf Camp
The Ocean Warrior Surf Camps is an u16s surf-based fun and educational five-day camp that is both inclusive and challenging. All surf camps are personally supervised by head coach Seamus Mc Goldrick and lasts 2.5 hours per day. Surfing is a great way to build a young person's confidence and understanding of the ocean. The camp is designed to bring out the inner Ocean Warrior in every participant regardless of ability with the help and expert guidance of Seamus and his friendly and engaging team of instructors.
Our camp is available June, July and August and includes surfing and bodyboarding, beach games, eco-walks, water safety and ocean awareness and, of course, lots of fun in the ocean.
The minimum age for surfing camps is 8 years old. A parent/guardian’s signature is required on our surf lesson form on first day of camp. Participants will need to bring a towel, swim gear, suncream and bag for belongings each day. Camp times are generally 10 am - 12.30 pm but in practice, camp times vary with the tide times as the summer progresses. Camp times will be confirmed with you upon booking.
Seamus Mc Goldrick is an experienced surf school manager with over twenty years surfing experience. The aim of the Ocean Warrior surf camp is to change attitudes and behaviors towards the water and ensure each student leaves with lifelong ocean awareness and water safety. Our program aims to develop confidence and social skills while creating a new sporting interest.
Our camp motto is: 'Respect All, Fear None, Have Fun.'
