View from the Restaurant

4-6ft mechanical reef break, ten second tubes, ten point rides - this is the day at Restaurants ‘we the public’ didn’t want to see.

John John took the accolades for stand out surfer of the day, although by narrow margin against such a tough backdrop of competition, and as we bring this to you (with the day four highlights dropping in late and day 5 already over) you’ll probably already know he looked a little off form in his quarter final heat and was dispatched by a confident Fanning in tricky, windy conditions at Cloudbreak today.

If you want to beat the delay on highlights and missed the live action, heats on demand give you every wave of every heat right up to the semi finals here

As of day 5 we’re looking at a Fanning / Medina semi final with Slater / Wilson and Adriano / CJ quarters still to run, with the Cloudbreak forecast showing continuing south swell with a reinforcing bump later in the day tomorrow only those slightly tricky SE winds put any doubt on Volcom crowning a winner in the next 24hrs.
