WAVES for Development offers it's third two-week Educational Surf / Adventure Voluntourism program for the youth of Lobitos and international surf travelers. Following the success of a pilot project in February and the beginning of phase II in July, local youth will once again have access to English & Arts, environmental conservation classes and learn how to swim & surf.
NEWPORT BEACH, California (Friday, September 19, 2008) – Increased swell in the four-to-five foot (1.5 metre) range graced the contest venue at Newport Beach’s 56th Street today and competitors in the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 2-Star Oakley Newport Beach Pro and the ASP Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior lifted the performance levels once again, narrowing the draws to the final 16 and final four respectively.

SEIGNOSSE, France (Sunday, September 21, 2008) - Current ASP World Tour No. 10 Jeremy Flores (Capbreton/New Caledonia, FRA) led the European charge today, confidently getting through to Round 3 after defeating ASP Top 45 rookie Daniel Ross (AUS) early in the morning. Flores, who posted a solid 15.17 point heat tally (out of a possible 20) to advance, was in good form finding a couple of barrels during his heat, leaving the water relieved.
